Video generation

What this does for you
Your bot can make a short video for you and put it in its answer. You describe the scene, and the bot asks a video model to make a clip of 4 to 8 seconds with the generate_video tool. The clip lands in your conversation as a file you can play, download and share, and it is always marked as made by AI.
Before you start
- Your organisation needs a video model it allows. If none is set up, the bot answers "Video generation is not available here." and makes nothing.
- Each video uses credits, like a picture does. The credits are checked before the video is made: with too few left, the bot answers "There are not enough credits left to make a video. Nothing was charged." and makes nothing.
- A run makes at most one video, and an organisation at most 10 a day.
Steps
- In the chat, ask the bot for a short video and say what should be in it: the scene, the motion and the style. The video model sees only the description the bot writes for it, not the rest of your conversation.
- Making a video costs credits, so the bot asks you first. Approve the request to let it go ahead. A rule you saved to always allow a tool never covers video generation: you approve every video.
- The clip appears in the bot's answer, with the bot's short description underneath.
A worked example
Asking for a short clip for a product page:
Make me a short video of a paper boat drifting across a still lake at sunrise, slow and calm, no text.
The bot asks to make one video. You approve it, and the answer shows the clip with the bot's description under it. The credits for it are counted only once the clip is in the conversation.
What can go wrong
When the bot cannot make a video, it tells you in a sentence why. The ones you may see:
| Message | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
Video generation is not available here. | No video model is set up for your organisation, or none is allowed by its settings. | Ask an administrator whether a video model can be set up. |
There are not enough credits left to make a video. Nothing was charged. | Your credits, or this run's spending limit, would not cover the clip. | Add credits or raise the limit, then ask again. |
Video generation could not be reached just now. Nothing was charged. | The video model did not answer. | Try again in a moment. |
That video could not be made from this description. Try describing it differently. | The video model refused the description. | Describe the scene differently. |
This run has already made a video. | One video per answer. | Ask for the next one in a new message. |
This organisation has made all the videos it can make today. | The daily number is used up. | Try again tomorrow. |
